Glorify Your Name
by Kevin Singleton
Your presence, Your glory
You’re welcome here
Al honor, dominion,
Lord, please come near
We want You. We need You (may repeat)
We live to glorify
Your name
Glorify Your name
Glorify Your name
Glorify the name above all names
Worship Song
Who Am I
by Casting Crowns
Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart?
Not because of who I am,
But because of what You’ve done.
Not because of what I’ve done,
But because of who You are.
I am a flower quickly fading:
Here today and gone tomorrow.
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still You hear me when I’m calling.
Lord, You catch me when I’m falling.
And You’ve told me who I am.
I am Yours, I am Yours.
Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again?
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me?
Not because of who I am,
But because of what You’ve done.
Not because of what I’ve done,
But because of who You are.
I am a flower quickly fading:
Here today and gone tomorrow.
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still You hear me when I’m calling.
Lord, You catch me when I’m falling.
And You’ve told me who I am.
I am Yours.
I am Yours, I am Yours, I am Yours.
Readings ……………………………………………………………………………Rev. Sharon Henry
First Reading: Isaiah 55:1-9 (The Inclusive Bible)
“All you who are thirsty, come to the water! You who have no money, come, buy food and eat! Come, buy wine and milk,
without money, without price!
Why spend your money for what is not bread, your wages for what fails to satisfy? Heed me, and you will eat well, you will delight in rich fare; bend your ear and come to me, listen, that you may have life: I will make an everlasting Covenant with you— in fulfillment of the blessings promised to David.
See, I have made of you to be a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander of the nations.
See, you will summon nations you never knew, and nations that never knew you will come hurrying to you— for the sake of YHWH, the Holy One of Israel, who will glorify you.
Seek me, YHWH, while I may still be found, call upon me while I am near! Let the corrupt abandon their ways, the evil their thoughts. Let them return to YHWH, and I will have mercy on them; return to God, for I will freely pardon.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways, my ways,” says YHWH. “As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are my ways above your ways and my thoughts above your thoughts.
Second Reading Luke 13:1-9 (NRSV)
At that very time there were some present who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. He asked them, “Do you think that because these Galileans suffered in this way they were worse sinners than all other Galileans? No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as they did. Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam fell on them–do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others living in Jerusalem? No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish just as they did.”
Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and found none. So he said to the gardener, ‘See here! For three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and still I find none. Cut it down! Why should it be wasting the soil?’ He replied, ‘Sir, let it alone for one more year, until I dig around it and put manure on it. If it bears fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.'”
Sermon: “Full of Worth”……………………………………………………….Rev. Sharon Henry
Discussion Questions:
- Can you see yourself in the story of the fig tree:
- As the tree?
- As those who would cut it down?
- As the gardener?
- Can you identify a “tree” that you want to water, and feed, and nurture into fruit-bearing?
Prayer Song
My World Needs You Right Now
by Kirk Franklin
Show me your face
Fill up this space
My world needs you right now
My world needs you right now
I can’t escape
Being afraid
Fill me with you right now
My world needs you right now
Power fall down
Bring with it a sound
That points us to you right now
Erase substitutes right now
Fix what I see
And God please fix me
My world needs you right now
Let us see you right now

Closing Song
I Just Want to Worship You
by Sharon Henry
You are my strength when I am weary
You lift me up when I fall down
You are the one and all consuming breath of love
And by your grace you made me worthy
You gave Your all to rescue me
There’s nothing I can do but lift my voice to You
I just want to worship You
I want to give my life to You
With everything within me, God – I want to know You more
I want to shout Your name out loud
God I want to make You proud
I just want to worship
I want to worship You
You are the Alpha and Omega
You are the reason that I sing
You made me – You made everything I am
How could I never seek to praise You?
How could I fail to speak Your name?
There’s nothing I can do but lift my voice and sing.
I just want to worship You
I want to give my life to You
With everything within me, God – I want to know You more
I want to shout Your name out loud
God I want to make You proud
I just want to worship
I want to worship You
And I stand in awe
I am amazed
That You could ever think of me
But you did so readily
I give You thanks
I give You praise
I offer up my everything
It’s the least that I could bring
I just want to worship You
I want to give my life to You
With everything within me, God – I want to know You more
I want to shout Your name out loud
God I want to make You proud
I just want to worship
I want to worship You
I just want to worship
I want to worship You
